Idea #24 Google maps & house/apt listing mash-up so users can lookup by location

My wife and I are currently looking to move downtown Vancouver and use a combination of apt listings and Google maps. I find it annoying because I can easily sort results by price, pet friendliness, balcony and the such, but there is no way to go from one location (e.g. your work) and see what's available close by on a map. There could be a very simple system showing dots on the map and when the users click on it a small box expands and gives the general information: price, size, pet friendliness, smoker, utilities, etc. For more information, then the users can click a link in the box that would take them to the original posting.

Quick, easy and user friendly. Looking for a place to live by location makes much more sense to me than anything else. Most listings will let you look in a region, but then you have to click on all of them one at a time to see how close it is to where you want to be.
